The holiday weekend is a time for more drunk driving accidents.

The National Transportation Safety Board urges people to choose a designated driver.

The NTSB says drunk drivers cause more than a dozen accidents a day, and that number always goes up around holidays.

Police in Green Country and all over the nation will step up their drunk driving patrols and some will even hold checkpoints.

Troopers have some advice about how you can prevent becoming a holiday victim.

"Slow down...be cautions...drive defensively and most of all wear your seatbelt and do not drink," says Trooper Kuhn, Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
