(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma congressman J-C Watts says he believes that Governor Keating would be a solid choice as the Republican vice presidential candidate. Keating's name has been mentioned in national stories speculating on Bush's possible running mate. The Oklahoma governor has filled out a questionnaire sent to prospects by the campaign of probable G-O-P presidential nominee George W- Bush. Watts says he has been told by some of the Bush folks that Oklahoma's size and proximity to Texas would not work against Keating. Watts says he thinks that Frank Keating is qualified to run the nation if circumstances dictate that. But he says Bush hasn't asked his opinion and he probably won't be volunteering his thoughts about vice presidential candidates.
