(Guthrie-AP) -- The title of the Greatest Horseman will be up for grabs Saturday at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie.

The National Reined Cow Horse Association Greatest Horse competition asks the horses to perform a variety of moves and disciplines -- and all in one night.

John Slack watched last year -- this year he's one of 40 amateur and professional competitors. The top ten compete in the finals round Saturday evening.

Slack says it takes a special horse to be able to compete in all four events of the Greatest Horse competition. And he hopes to rope, rein, herd and cut his way to the title.
