(Tulsa-AP) -- Claremore's Keith Bucktrot called his drafting by the Philadelphia Phillies in the third round of the amateur baseball draft Monday -- quote -- "the funnest day of my life."
But he's still got a long way to the top. Bucktrot will likely start out with the Phillies' rookie league team in Batavia, New York.
He was the 85th player selected in Monday's draft -- just a few spots behind Weatherford pitcher Colby Miller, who was taken 72nd by Minnesota. That makes Miller and Bucktrot the highes tdrafted Oklahomans since 1998, when Edmond's Matt Roney was taken in the first round by Colorado.
But bragging rights aren't the only thing at stake. For his selection, Bucktrot can expect a signing bonus in the $500,000 range.
