OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Gov. Frank Keating Friday set June 28 for the start of a special session of the Oklahoma Legislature.

Keating announced plans to call lawmakers back into session when no agreement was reached on car tag and workers' compensation
reform at the end of the Legislature's regular session on May 26.

But the specific issues that lawmakers will be asked to take up will not be outlined until Keating issues a formal call at a later date, according to a statement released by the governor's office.

In addition to car tags and workers' comp, lawmakers have asked Keating to include problems that have popped up with the state's
tobacco settlement legislation in the special session call.

House Speaker Loyd Benson, D-Frederick, said the rush of last-minute legislation prevented the House from acting on Senate
Bill 1404 before the Legislature adjourned. The measure would appropriate $50 million to the tobacco settlement trust fund.

"Because of this oversight, and since we're probably going to be in a short special session anyway, we might as well take advantage of the opportunity to fix it now," Benson said.
