(Oklahoma City-AP) - More than half of the 75 Oklahoma students receiving National Merit scholarships plan to attend the University of Oklahoma. 48 of the 75 students are being provided scholarships from the University of Oklahoma. Nine are receiving scholarships from Oklahoma State. Two have scholarships from the University of Tulsa and two from Oral Roberts University. The students get scholarships of between $500 and $2,000 a year. The scholarships are awarded based on scores from the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test taken in their junior year. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation in Evanston, Illinois, has chosen more than 2,500 students as merit scholars nationwide.
