(Tulsa-AP) -- Thirty-one-year-old Lawrence Ringer of Tulsa is headed to prison for 17 years for the robberies of two bank offices last year.

U-S District Judge Michael Burrage handed down the sentence Monday. He also ordered Ringer to pay Bank of America more than $12,000 in restitution for stolen money that was never recovered.

Ringer was convicted in January in the robberies of two Bank of America branches in Tulsa. He also was found guilty of brandishing a firearm in one of the robberies.

Burrage also recommended that Ringer receive mental health treatment while in prison.
