(Tulsa-AP) -- The annual Zebco Family Fishing Festival won't be held this summer in Tulsa.

Zebco spokesman Gary Dollahon says the company won't be holding the popular Mohawk Park festival out of respect for Tulsa employees who are losing their jobs.

Zebco executives say they will shift production of four of the company's fishing reels to China. They say the layoffs will occur in mid-June.

Zebco still plans to stock waters in three Tulsa parks and two large storm retention ponds. Nearly 10,000 catfish and sunfish will be stocked in observance of National Fishing Week June 3 - 11.

The Fishing Festival was believed to be one of the oldest-running fishing events being held in any southwest city, running about 40 years.
