(McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania-AP) -- In western Pennsylvania, a suspect has been arraigned on one homicide charge and is awaiting arraignment on four other charges.
Police say Richard Baumhammers killed five people and critically wounded a sixth person at three suburban Pittsburgh shopping centers in what's described as a racially motivated shooting spree.
Two of the dead, both of Asian descent, were shot at a Chinese restaurant in McKees Rocks. A black man was killed at a martial arts school in Monaca.
Two other people, both Indian, were shot at an Indian grocery in Carnegie. One of those victims died.
A Jewish woman was found shot dead in her Mount Lebanon home.
The gunman is suspected in her death. She lived on the same block as some of the suspect's relatives.
Police say Baumhammers also fired shots at two synagogues, but no one was injured.
