HENRYETTA, Okla. (AP) -- A Henryetta man is in custody in Hughes County in connection with the shooting death of his mother's boyfriend.
Charges are not expected to be filed in the death of James Blatchford, 46, of Henryetta until Monday. James Tyrone Baker, 24,is being held pending the formal charges.
Blatchford was killed Tuesday near Dustin. His body was dumped near the North Canadian River in Okfuskee County.
Undersheriff Marshal Eller said Blatchford and Debbie Hackler,40, of Henryetta were camping in the hills near a residence Howard Bliss owned. Bliss called authorities to say he had seen Blatchford's body at the campsite. The site was deserted and burned when authorities arrived.
The body was found in a search.
Eller said Hackler told agents her son had told Blatchford that if he ever beat her, as he had done before, he would kill him.
