(Edmond-AP) -- Central Oklahoma coach Skip Wagnon has been named Lone Star Conference Golf Coach of the Year.

The honor comes after Wagnon guided the U-C-O golf team to their first conference title last week.

Wagnon is in his 14th year as golf coach and athletic director at U-C-O.

His Bronchos got a 14-stroke win in the league tournament last week in Euless, Texas.

The 13th-ranked team travels to the N-C-A-A Division Two West Regional in Bakersfield, California, on May 1 - 3.

The Bronchos hope to earn a berth in the national tournament on May 16 - 19 in Turlock, California.
