(Tulsa-AP) -- U-S Representative Tom Coburn plans to write a book.

The G-O-P congressman is not running for reelection in Oklahoma's Second District but says he plans to author a book on 30 issues where he thinks problems exist in the government.

Coburn says he also wants to use the book to point out the differences between what people think happens in Washington and what actually goes on.

He says "the political parties are killing us."

Coburn says he was approached by a publishing company, which he would not identify.

He says he has not signed a contract for the book because it would be inappropriate to do so while still a member of Congress.

Coburn admits that his book will not make others happy.
