(Stillwater-AP) -- Potential is the word that describes the Oklahoma State Cowboys. That -- and frustration.

The Cowboys know they could have been better and should have been better last season.

They suffered two disappointing 5-and-6 seasons after a 1997 Alamo Bowl appearance.

But the emerged from their 15 days of spring practices believing that 2000 will be different.

Senior quarterback Tony Lindsey is back in a revamped offense. And he'll have more weapons.

And the defense will be younger at spots but have better size and speed.
