Six Oklahoma college products were selected in the weekend NFL draft, half of them going on the first day
Oklahoma offensive lineman Stockar McDougle was picked Saturday in the first round.
Defensive backs William Bartee of Oklahoma and Jacoby Shepherd of Oklahoma State went in the second round Saturday.
Nabbed on the second day of the draft was Tulsa defensive back Todd Franz. His fifth-round draft by the Detroit Lions was the first NFL draft of a Tulsa player since 1997.
"The draft is just one part of the whole puzzle," the Weatherford native said Sunday. "Now the work begins if I want to get a job. That's what I'm focusing in on anyway."
Green Bay picked Northwestern Oklahoma defensive tackle Ron Moore with pick No. 229 of the draft, while the Washington Redskin sgot Oklahoma State wide receiver Ethan Howell with pick No. 250,one of the last picks of the draft.
McDougle, at 6-foot-5, 361 pounds, was the 20th overall pick.
Bartee was picked 54th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs. Shepherd went 62nd -- the final pick of the second round -- to the Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams.
