(New York-AP) -- How soon they forget.
Mementos of Yankee great Joe DiMaggio struck out at Christie's Auction House today.
Even the prize item -- the jersey worn by the Yankee Clipper in his final game -- was pulled from consideration after the top bid was too low.
The jersey was expected to bring between 150-thousand and 300-thousand dollars. But the top bid of 100-thousand dollars came in below the minimum.
Bidders also passed on such items as a personalized Florida license plate signed by DiMaggio, a golf cart given to "Joltin' Joe" by longtime friend Morris Engelberg, DiMaggio's passport and scores of autographed photographs.
Afterward, Engelberg said "I am shocked and disappointed."
