(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa men's basketball coach Bill Self is the winner of the 2000 John and Nellie Wooden Coach of the Year Award.

That was announced by the Utah Tip Off Club. Wooden is the former great U-C-L-A head coach and will present Self the award on April 15th in Salt Lake City.

Self guided the Golden Hurricane to a 32-and-5 record, including the team's first ever trip to the Elite Eight of the N-C-Double-A Tournament.
