(Little Rock, Arkansas-AP) -- A former Oklahoma City woman is scheduled to be executed May Second in Arkansas for admittedly poisoning and suffocating her two children.
Christina Marie Riggs would be the first female prisoner executed in Arkansas' recorded history.
Governor Mike Huckabee says Riggs should die for the murders but adds that he's uncomfortable with it being a first for his state.
Riggs dropped her appeals and two Arkansas courts this year upheld her right to do so.
Riggs was living at Sherwood, Arkansas, when her children died from poisoning and suffocation on November Fifth, 1997.
Five-year-old Justin was injected with potassium chloride and morphine and then smothered.
Two-year-old Shelby Alexis was smothered.
Attorney General Mark Pryor certified to Huckabee this week that Riggs had no appeal pending.
