(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Secretary of Commerce Russell Perry has named Collinsville and Sayre as Oklahoma's 2000 Main Street Towns.
The Oklahoma Main Street program provides communities with tools to improve their historic central and neighborhood business district areas.
Perry says the program creates a total image for a business district. The program is in its 15th year and has generated 197 million dollars in private investment and created more than 59-hundred new jobs. It has helped in the development of more than two-thousand new or expanded small businesses.
Collinsville is a Tulsa County community which recently celebrated its 100th birthday.
The western Oklahoma community of Sayre in Beckham County has been designated as the gateway to the nearby Washita Battlefield National Historic Site.
