(Atlanta-AP) -- Some automakers are responding to a scolding from the head of the National Transportation Safety Board.
Chairman Jim Hall criticized Volvo, Mitsubishi, Kia, Subaru, Suzuki and Isuzu for lacking programs to teach parents how to properly install child car safety seats.
A Subaru spokesman says his company sent a letter to the N-T-S-B saying it would like to cooperate in such a program -- if the agency or some other organization would develop the guidelines.
A Mitsubishi spokesman says his company has done a series of campaigns about child passenger safety. And Volvo says child safety has been on the company's "agenda" for years.
