(Washington-AP) -- A top National Rifle Association official is standing his ground after coming under fire from the White House.
N-R-A Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre said yesterday that President Clinton exploits gun deaths for political purposes.
Today, Clinton said he'd like to see LaPierre make his charge to the mother of the six-year-old girl shot to death in a Michigan grade school, allegedly by another six-year-old.
But LaPierre isn't giving way.
He says Clinton should face parents of children killed by gun violence and explain why he doesn't take "crack dealers with guns" off the street.
LaPierre says he can think of no other reason for the administration's lack of gun law enforcement except that it's driven by politics.
