(Undated-AP) -- GOP presidential hopefuls John McCain and George W. Bush defended their campaigns during separate interviews Sunday on CBS' "Face the Nation."
Bush says he has nothing to do with recent ads attacking McCain's environmental stance. McCain says the ads were bought by Bush "cronies." Bush says they are independent expenditures, and he has no authority to pull them.
Meanwhile, McCain admitted that his campaign tried to negotiate an appearance for him at Bob Jones University some time ago. But he says he would have spoken out against some of the university's policies and opinions.
Bush took a lot of criticism for speaking at the college that is said to have anti-Catholic and racist views. The one thing both candidates agree on is that they'll support whoever wins the Republican nomination.
