Chaplain accused of paying 15-year-old for sex

(McAlester-AP) -- A 60-year-old chaplain at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary is charged with buying alcohol for two 15-year-old girls and trying to get them to have sex with him, even paying one 50 dollars.

Jimmie Lee Harris appeared in Pittsburg County District Court yesterday, where he faces charges of lewd molestation, second degree rape, engaging in child prostitution and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He is free on bail, but has been ordered to stay away from children.

Assistant Warden Lee Mann says Harris is on his annual leave from the prison. She says she does not know if Harris would be able to return to work if his case isn't resolved before his leave is up.

Authorities say he is alleged to have provided the girls with alcohol and paid for sex more than once. Both incidents allegedly happened last year.
