OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Here are the conditions at Oklahoma lakes
as reported Wednesday by the state Department of Wildlife
Conservation and lake rangers.
CENTRAL
Hefner: Channel catfish fair on worms, liver and cut bait;
crappie fair on minnows and jigs off the docks.
Overholser: Hybrids fair on white grubs; crappie good on minnows
and jigs off the piers.
Thunderbird: Elevation below normal, water 50. Crappie good on
minnows and jigs, 8-10 ft., around brushpiles.
NORTHEAST
Copan: Channel catfish good drifting shad; crappie fair on
minnows and jigs in the creek and river channels and near
brushpiles.
Eucha: Elevation normal, water 40 and clear. All fishing
reported good.
Fort Gibson: Elevation normal, water 52. Channel catfish fair on
cut shad, 20-30 ft.; crappie good on minnows and jigs, 8-10 ft.,
near brushpiles.
Grand: Channel catfish fair drift fishing, 20 ft.; crappie good
on minnows and jigs, 10-15 ft., near brushpiles.
Greenleaf: Black bass fair on spinnerbaits and deep diving
crankbaits; crappie fair on minnows and jigs near fishing docks and
brushpiles.
Hudson: Black bass good on various lures off points and rocky
areas; crappie good on minnows and jigs near docks.
Kaw: Sand bass fair below the dam when generating; channel
catfish good on stinkbait in the upper river; crappie good on
minnows and jigs near brushpiles.
Keystone: Elevation normal, water 45 and murky. Sand bass fair
on inline spinners in creek channels; channel catfish fair on cut
shad on juglines in deep water.
Oologah: Elevation normal. Crappie good on minnows and jigs, 15
ft., in standing timber and over brushpiles.
Skiatook: Elevation 2 ft. below normal, water clear. Crappie
good on minnows and jigs near deep brushpiles.
Spavinaw: Elevation normal, water 40 and clear. All fishing
reported good.
Tenkiller: Elevation 2 ft. below normal. Water 45 and clear.
Black bass excellent using stickbaits and spinnerbaits with
trailers along rocky shorelines in about 10 feet of water; crappie
good using small tube jigs in the upper end over brushpiles, 12-15
ft.
Webbers Falls: Black bass fair on spinnerbaits near riprap;
channel catfish good on cut bait in deep holes on bottom; crappie
fair near brush structure.
SOUTHEAST
Arbuckle: Elevation 4 ft. below normal, water 50 and clear. Sand
bass good on silver slabs, 50-55 ft.
Atoka: Elevation 10 ft. below normal, water 50. Crappie fair on
minnows, 18-20 ft. in the north end off the bridge.
Broken Bow: Elevation 4 ft. below normal, water 51 and clear.
Black bass fair on jigs off points.
Hugo: Elevation normal, water 51. Crappie fair on live minnows.
Konawa: Elevation normal, water 53 and clear. Black bass fair on
crankbaits, 15 ft., in the discharge canal; sand bass and hybrids
fair on minnows and jigs, 15 ft., in the discharge canal.
McGee Creek: Elevation 1 foot below normal, water 50 and clear.
Black bass fair on jigs, 30-40 ft.
Murray: Elevation 4 ft. below normal, water 50 and clear. Sand
bass and crappie fair on minnows.
Pine Creek: Elevation 2 ft. below normal, water 49 and clear.
Black bass good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits, 6 ft., off points
and in creek channels.
Robert S. Kerr: Elevation normal, water 48 and murky. Channel
catfish good on fresh shad, 20-30 ft., in creek and river channels;
crappie good on minnows, 10-12 ft., in deep water at the edges of
creek channels.
Wister: Elevation normal, water murky. Black bass fair on
jigs-and-pigs, 8-16 ft., off rocky points; crappie fair on minnows,
10-14 ft., in standing timber.
NORTHWEST
Canton: Elevation 1 foot below normal. Sand bass and hybrids
fair on slabs and live shad; crappie good on minnows and jigs,
12-15 ft., near brushpiles.
Fort Supply: Elevation below normal. Crappie fair on minnows and
jigs.
SOUTHWEST
Altus-Lugert: Walleye good on minnows and jigs early and late
around rocks.
Foss: Elevation normal, water 43 and clear. Saugeye fair on
small jigs and minnows, 35 ft., around marinas and off points.
Tom Steed: Crappie good on minnows and jigs, 18-20 ft., near the
dam and brushpiles; walleye fair on minnows and sassy shad, 18-20
ft., off the rocks.
Waurika: Elevation 3 ft. below normal. Channel catfish good on
cut shad off windy points.
All fishing is reported as slow at the following lakes: Arcadia,
Birch, Carl Blackwell, Draper, Ellsworth, Fort Cobb, Great Salt
Plains, Hulah, Texoma.
