Tulsa homicide investigators are looking for any clue that will help them identify two burned bodies. Firefighters found the bodies in a car Thursday morning on a dead end street near 54th and North Zunis Avenue.
The fire was still roaring around 3:00AM when firefighters approached the car. They were able to put the fire out and discovered two bodies in the car. "Both bodies are burned beyond recognition,†said Tulsa police corporal Tom Ford. “We don't even know their race or sex."
The fire destroyed the car's tag and dashboard vehicle identification number. Investigators searched the area and combed through what was left of the car for any sign that would lead them to the owner. "We need to find out who the owner is and backtrack from there, said Tulsa police sergeant Wayne Allen. “Then we can find out who was driving the car at the time the fire started."
Fire investigators are also trying to find out how the fire started. The neighbor who called 9-1-1 said she heard an explosion. “There were probably accelerants used and this was probably a deliberately set fire to cover other crimes," Allen noted.
Investigators say to determine who committed the crimes, they first need to find out the identity of the victims and then identify who were their enemies, too.
