(San Francisco-AP) -- A San Francisco organization is suing Pacific Bell, for publishing its address in the phone book.

The group runs a shelter to protect the victims of domestic violence.

It says since the address showed up in the white pages, at least three spouses of battered women have appeared at the shelter.

A Pacific Bell spokesman says there was a mistake in the book, in 1998, but that it's out of circulation now.

He says he doesn't know if the fault lies with the phone company or with someone at the shelter.

The shelter is seeking a (m) million dollars in damages.
