(Denver-AP) -- The lawyer for Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols filed a motion today seeking more time to prepare his federal appeal. Nichols' attorney wants his client's opening brief pushed back 45 days, from February 17th to April third.

A 30-day extension has already been granted. But Nichols' appointed attorney Susan Foreman says she's unfamiliar with new evidence that forms the basis of Nichols' appeal.

The 44-year-old is serving a life sentence without the possibility of release for his role in the 1995 bombing. He's in Oklahoma now up on 160 state murder charges.
