PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Steve Furness, who earned four Super Bowl rings as a defensive lineman with the Pittsburgh Steelers, died Wednesday. He was 49. Furness suffered a heart attack at his suburban Pittsburgh home Wednesday evening and was pronounced dead at Saint Clair Hospital.
A defensive tackle with the Steelers from 1972 to 1980, Furness got a lot of playing time and helped win championships in the 1975,1976, 1979 and 1980 Super Bowls. Furness was an assistant coach with the Steelers in 1992 and 1993.
