OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Attorneys for Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh have one month to finish work on his appeal of his conviction in the April 19, 1995, destruction of the federal building. The attorneys had asked for an extra six months, but U.S. District Judge Richard Matsch in Denver rejected that proposal Monday.

Prosecutors argued that McVeigh's defense team had already had 15 months to prepare his appeal. The appeal is due March 8. McVeigh, 31, is awaiting execution for the bombing that killed 168 people and injured more than 500 others.
