(Tulsa-AP) -- A philanthropist whose volunteer work ranged from the fine arts to the Girl Scouts has died at age 60. Janet Zink died yesterday at the Tulsa-area ranch she shared with husband John Zink.
Funeral officials say they did not know the cause of death. Zink is a North Carolina native and graduate of Duke University. She taught school in Washington, D-C and New York City before moving to Tulsa in 1966.
She devoted her time to her family and her community, serving on the boards of museums, the Tulsa Garden Center and the Magic Empire Council of Girl Scouts. Last year she received the Premier Volunteer Award from Volunteers of America.
