(Washington-AP) -- Despite all the publicity about drunk driving over the years, a survey finds that most Americans don't know the
legal limits in their own states.

The study of one-thousand adults conducted by the Century Council found that 78 percent don't know at what point sober driving ends and drunk driving begins.

The survey also found that only about 16 percent know that a shot of liquor contains the same amount of alcohol as a standard serving of beer or wine.

Drunk driving fatalities have been steadily declining for 16 years, but still resulted in nearly 16-thousand deaths last year.
