The University of Tulsa has formed a seven-member committee to advise University of Tulsa President Bob Lawless in the search for a new head football coach.
The committee will be led by athletic director Judy MacLeod and will make a recommendation to Lawless. T-U said the names of the other committee members would be kept confidential.
The university fired head coach Dave Rader after 12 years on October 25th. The firing came in the middle of Rader's eighth-straight losing season. Defensive coordinator Pat Henderson was named interim head coach.
MacLeod said the timing gave T-U the chance to get a jump in the search for a replacement. She said Henderson would be a candidate.
The university said in a news release today that it would have no further comment about the search until it announces its choice.
The Golden Hurricane faces University of Texas-El Paso at the Sun Bowl tomorrow. T-U is 1-and-7, 0-and-5 in the Western Athletic Conference.
