A man accused in an alleged multi-county child pornography ring has committed suicide, Tulsa police said Monday. Ronald Curts, 53, was charged last week with one felony count of possession of obscene material depicting minors engaged in sexual acts. He shot himself once in the head with a deer rifle Sunday afternoon, said Officer Andy Phillips. Curts was accused with five other people in the alleged pornography ring. Police say children were videotaped in sexual acts and the tapes were distributed in Oklahoma and Tennessee. Investigators have collected more than 300 video tapes from homes in Tulsa, Sand Springs and Commerce, officials said. Curts was taken into custody Oct. 4 after officers serving a search warrant found videotapes containing child pornography in his home, officials said. A court document filed by Curts' defense attorney claimed that Curts was only copying three videotapes for a friend.
