(Seattle-AP) -- Boeing says the checks are in the mail. But hundreds of retired workers are still waiting. The aerospace giant says hundreds of people have called to say their monthly checks are close to a week late. A company spokesman says the checks were mailed September 30th and should have arrived at retirees' homes within one or two days. Boeing says the postal service is looking into the problem and trying to find out where the checks are. There are about 60-thousand Boeing retirees nationwide. About 40-thousand of them get their monthly payments through direct deposits. Checks are mailed to the rest. The company says so far, the only calls from been from people in the Seattle area, where Boeing is headquartered.
