(Bryan, Texas-AP) -- It took about four hours of deliberations
-- and now, a jury in Texas has convicted a white supremacist in
the gruesome dragging death of a black man last year.

Lawrence Brewer could get the death penalty. That's the fate
that awaits another man who's already been convicted in the crime.
A third man awaits trial.

The same jury that convicted Brewer today will now decide if
he'll join John King on the Texas death row.

They dragged James Byrd to his death after chaining him by his
ankles to a pickup truck.

But Brewer testified that he had tried to get the other two men
to release Byrd -- and said he never meant to kill him.
