LAWTON, Okla. (AP) _ Fire crews in Comanche County are battling a 4,000 acre wildfire that has been burning since Saturday afternoon.
Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Michelann Ooten says the fire started at about 2 Saturday afternoon.
High winds and dry conditions have fueled the fire that has a 2-and-a-half mile fire blazing.
Ooten says about 15 structures are in the fires path.
State fire crews are on standby to use helicopters and a fire retardant liquid to help control the fire.
Earlier this weekend, state officials issued a Red Flag fire alert, saying conditions were favorable for massive fires.
