Two 11-year old Tulsa boys are defending a basic staple of an American childhood, which may soon be part of the past.

Most of us grew up with a favorite Bugs, Daffy and maybe Porky Pig. Warner Brothers is now launching a new version of the Looney Tunes crew for this generation.

They're called the Loonatics and from the looks of it, today's toons have some major differences. Loonatics are sharper edged, slenderized and posses superpowers.

Changes not sitting well with some fans. Classic cartoon fan Ashten Hubbard: "Well I was watching the news and I'm thinking what the heck are they doing, I don't like this."

11-year old Ashten Hubbard ran the news by his friend Thomas Adams and the two made a plan. Theyâ€™ve started an on-line campaign, with their own website, www.saveourlooneytunes.com.

Fans of all ages are showing their support. The boys plan to take their cause to Warner Brothers.

When the News on 6 contacted Warner Brothers about the web site, officials said they're delighted that the public holds so dear to their heart the classic Looney Tunes characters.

They say the new toons are descendants of the classics and will not replace them in any way, but simply make the family bigger.
