There's been a one day delay in the start of planned construction at the US highway 75 and 71st Street interchange.

Crews were supposed to close the 71st Street ramp both northbound and southbound on US highway 75 Thursday. City officials say Wednesday's rain made it impossible for crews to lay asphalt along 81st Street, which would become the alternate route once the 71st Street ramps are closed.

Once the ground dries, crews will lay close the 71st Street ramps and begin their work.
