Bixby area residents can now enjoy events and festivals under the stars. The Rotary Club of Bixby held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday for a new amphitheater.
The Rotarians have hosted the Bixby Blues and Bar-B-Que event for the past three years to help raise money for the theater. The amphitheater is located in Washington Irving Park.
Jack Maxwell with the Bixby Rotary Club: "Since it’s in Washington Irving Park, replica of his house, full statue of Washington Irving."
The city of Bixby and the Bixby Rotary Club funded the project jointly.
The building of the theater marks the International Rotary Club's 100th anniversary of making a difference in the world.
