NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma football coach bob Stoops says defensive tackle Moe Dampeer isn't attending off-season workouts and isn't expected to take part in spring practices.
Stoops would not say that Dampeer has been kicked off the team.
Dampeer was one of the top defensive tackle recruits in the country when he signed with O-U in 2003, but has often fallen out of favor with coaches. He reported overweight last fall and didn't dress out for the first two games.
But he earned playing time last season after the dismissal of Dusty Dvoracek from the team. He had ten tackles in eight games, including five for a loss and won praise from Stoops just before the Orange Bowl.
But Stoops now says Dampeer isn't doing the things coaches believe are necessary to be a part of the team, including going to classes and working out.
