An overwhelming defeat for a Tulsa state Senator's bill to ban two school mascot names.

The state Senate Education Committee voted Monday 18 to 5 against Judy Eason McIntyre's measure. It would have eliminated the use of the names "Redskins" and "Savages" for mascots at public schools and colleges.

McIntyre says she will file a similar bill next year.
