OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A former federal prosecutor has been appointed to the Court of Criminal Appeals.
Governor Brad Henry appointed Arlene Johnson as the 4th Judicial District Judge on the Court of Criminal Appeals.
Johnson, a 1971 graduate of the University of Oklahoma school of law, succeeds Reta Strubhar. Strubhar has retired.
Johnson has served as the chief of the criminal division of the US Attorney's Office for the Western District of Oklahoma.
Prior to her 21-year career as a federal prosecutor, Johnson was chief of the criminal division for the state attorney general. She was also a first assistant for the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office and chief counsel for the Oklahoma State Senate. She has also served as trial counsel for Southwestern Bell.
