OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Mary Jo Copeland, the mother of Lieutenant Governor Mary Fallin, has died at age 78.

Copeland had been in poor health for several years and died Thursday night at a hospital in Shawnee.

Copeland was a former mayor of Tecumseh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Copeland, who was also a Tecumseh mayor.

She's survived by Fallin, son Bill Copeland and four grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh.
