Family and friends gathered Friday afternoon to honor one of Tulsa's most generous philanthropists, Jack Zink.

He died last weekend from a blood clot after checking himself into a hospital. He was 76.

He headed John Zink Company for 18 years, until he founded Zeeco in 1981. Zink also served on the corporate boards of Telex, Sunbeam, Liberty Bank, Matrix and Unit Corp.

He was a racing enthusiast whose cars won the Indianapolis 500 twice.

The memorial service was held at the TU Reynolds Center.
