OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma House and Senate passed legislation to honor former President Ronald Reagan.
A House measure by Norman Representative Thad Balkman recognized February sixth as the 94th anniversary of Reagan's birth and the first since he died on June fifth. A measure by Senate Minority leader Glenn Coffee declared February sixth through the 12th as Ronald Reagan Week.
The House yesterday adopted the resolution after rejecting an amendment by Quinton state Representative Ray Miller to also honor former President Dwight -D- Eisenhower.
The House upheld a ruling by Speaker Todd Hiett that Miller's amendment wasn't germane to the bill.
The measures are Senate Resolution Two and House Resolution ten-oh-two.
