OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An Oklahoma County district judge is ordering the Department of Public Safety to turn over a list of documents and computerized data to the Tulsa World.

The Tulsa newspaper sued the agency in July 2001 to obtain the public records.

District Judge Vicki Robertson yesterday ordered the agency to provide records concerning the use of force by state troopers, a database of police dog searches and other information.

The World also requested a copy of the agency's policy and procedures manual and computerized traffic citations or warnings, but Robertson ruled the agency doesn't have to provide those items.

The World argued that the policy manual and computerized traffic citations are public records under the Oklahoma Open Records Act.

An attorney for the World says the paper is considering its legal option on those issues.
