A homeless man accused of murdering a downtown bar owner was in a Tulsa County courtroom Friday.

The latest is that a judge denied Terry Badgewell bail. Badgewell was in court after being charged with first degree murder and assault and battery in connection with the death of Shawn Howard.

Howard and Badgewell got into a fight in June outside Howard's Tulsa club, the Deadtown Tavern.

The Tulsa County DA initially refused to file charges, saying it was self-defense, but a grand jury decided charges were justified.
