TECUMSEH, Okla. (AP) _ The state's largest juvenile detention center no longer house both boys and girls.

All 12 girls that were at the LD Rader Center in Sand Springs are now at the Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center in Tecumseh. The unit at Rader where girls were kept is now home for 13- and 14-year-old boys.

Juvenile officials say they now hope to provide more counselors for the female offenders. Rader Superintendent Jimmy Martin says he also hopes moving the younger boys will get them away from the negative influence of older juvenile offenders.

Rader administrator Elizabeth Stewart says the moves have been in the works for about four months, but details were kept quiet for security reasons.
