LAWTON, Okla. (AP) -- Lawton police say the drowning of a 3-year-old girl in her family's swimming pool appears to be accidental.

Lieutenant Rusty Wright says police were called shortly before 10:30 Sunday night about a missing girl. Wright says before officers arrived at the home in southwest Lawton the family called back to say they had found the girl in the pool.

The name of the girl and her family were not released.
