BERLIN (AP) _ Ryk Neethling of South Africa broke the world record in the 100-meter medley by clocking 52.11 seconds at a short-course World Cup swim meet on Saturday.
The record was only four days old _ another South African, Roland Schoeman, had swum 52.51 at another short-course meet in Stockholm, Sweden.
Schoeman, who failed to make the medley final, equaled another world record Saturday when he clocked 46.52 seconds in the 100-meter freestyle, tying the mark of Ian Crocker of the United States.
