KANSAS, Okla. (AP) -- A 21-year-old Kansas, Oklahoma, man is recovering in an Arkansas hospital after being shot by Delaware County deputies.

Jason Glass was flown to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, after being shot. A hospital spokeswoman said Glass was in fair condition late Monday morning.

Delaware County Undersheriff Dale Eberle says deputies shot Glass several times after he pointed a rifle at them. Eberle says deputies commanded Glass to lay down the rifle several times before shooting him.

Eberle says the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting, and the two deputies have been placed on administrative leave.

After the shooting, Eberle says deputies entered the house and found what they said was evidence of a methamphetamine manufacturing operation and several firearms.
